Most start-ups spin their wheels for the first 6 months to 2 years. Like most performance groups they're founded on the talents of a select group of brilliant individuals with equally brilliant dreams and ideals. But they can quickly founder when proper care isn’t put into refining the mission and vision, developing a solid business model and establishing a healthy working environment. 

 

What's the difference between Mission and Vision? And how do they effect funding? Should we become a 501(c)3? Do by-laws really matter? Who should be on our board and what role do we want them to play? There are only 4 of us, do we really need HR policies? How do we develop income streams, or more to the point, how do we develop meaningful and sustainable income streams?
